Rebecca Bouwhuis

Chiropractor

Dr. Rebecca Bouwhuis was born and raised in Orillia, Ontario. Rebecca was always active growing up, playing soccer, football and track before choosing to focus on her hockey career. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo where she developed her passion for understanding how the human body functions. While at UW, she also competed as the goalie for the University of Waterloo Women’s Hockey Team and balanced goalie coaching opportunities. Rebecca always knew she wanted to pursue a career in the health field. Originally pursuing a degree in Health Sciences, she became fascinated with the kinesiology and anatomy courses and so switched her degree as she sought to understand how body mechanics influenced our everyday movements as well as those when playing sports. This led Rebecca to the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College where she achieved her Doctor of Chiropractic in 2020. After graduating, Rebecca treated at clinics in Toronto before choosing to return to her small-town roots.
Rebecca is passionate about helping her patients feel and move better, treating acute and chronic injuries for athletes, weekend warriors, desk warriors and more. She practices a diversified technique, incorporating multiple treatment styles including manipulations and mobilizations, focused muscle therapy techniques, taping, and tailored rehabilitation and exercise programs as well as providing education and lifestyle modifications.
When not seeing patients, you can usually find Rebecca at the hockey rink, either playing for or coaching local hockey teams.
