Dr. Laura Reeves
ND
Naturopathic Doctor
Inspired by her mother’s extensive nutrition education, holistic healthcare was always a clear choice for Laura. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional and Nutraceutical Science (minor in Neuroscience) from the University of Guelph, and a Naturopathic Doctorate from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. To deepen her knowledge of pregnancy and birth, she is trained as a birth doula (not practicing), and has co-authored a published paper on the hormonal factors influencing pregnancy.
Dr. Laura treats a wide range of conditions, including digestive health (IBS, IBD, etc.), menopause, menstrual irregularities (PMS, PCOS, etc.), fertility, sleep & fatigue, anxiety & mood, post-injury recovery, diabetes & metabolic health, weight management, arthritis, acne, eczema/psoriasis, food sensitivities, immune support, cardiovascular health, and pain management.
During a visit, Dr. Laura will explore the root cause of your health concerns, including your health history and your current routine. Lab work may be ordered if indicated to highlight potential underlying imbalances. Her primary tools are diet and lifestyle counselling, herbal medicine, and nutritional supplements, as needed, to support the body’s innate healing ability. Laura empowers her patients to feel confident when it comes to making health decisions outside of the clinic, as that is where the real change lies.
When Dr. Laura isn’t working, you’ll usually find her doing something musical. She has sung in many choirs, musical theatre productions, competitions, and now volunteers as a singer at her church. Since moving from the Greater Toronto Area to Muskoka with her husband, she’s been enjoying the lakes and slower pace of life, and is excited to get to know more of the community! Laura is thrilled to be joining the team and looks forward to supporting the health of the community at both the Bracebridge and Orillia locations.
